Whoa, way too long!

Well, it has officially been WAY TOO LONG since I last posted! Wow, and several things have happened since my last posting.

What a silly thing to say! What kind of life would I have if nothing had happened during such a long interval of time? Well, thank G-d, good things are in the wind. :-)

First, I want to say something about the blog carnival. It didn’t get posted on schedule this month for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that I was flooded with spam via the carnival site. Spam, brings to mind a can of an end-of-the-world substance that looks like cat food but that I would never feed to my cat. My idea of beauty

I’m still in the process of organizing my wonderful little apartment. Still going through boxes, setting things up, clearing surfaces. I think I’ll be doing it off and on throughout the year. If all goes well, I’ll probably be finished mid-summer, 2009.

Here’s a picture I took of my fruit (!). Sounds funny, but there’s nothing like a pile of juicy, colorful, health-giving bounty in one’s home. I really think it’s really lovely. Choosing something from the pile is a real pleasure.

The sunflowers were buds when I bought them–not only do they open, but they actually grow over a period of two or so weeks.

Having a contented kitty is not so bad either :-)! This is the Big Guy in one of his new comfort spots.

People who live in Israel are fond of saying that both autumn and spring last anywhere from a few hours to a day or two. True, there isn’t much that’s transitional about life in Israel–it’s usually either all black or all white.

Winter though, this is really something. While the majority of the world–including people, plants and animals–is more or less taking cover, hibernating until spring dawns, winter in Israel is more of an awakening. It generally begins with Continue Reading »
