Starting Over blog carnival

Published by Joanna

It’s here!

My first blog carnival! Yea!

I’m so excited, this is the first It’s About Starting Over blog carnival! I received quite a few submissions and really enjoyed reading them all, but in the end, I chose only the below ten. Weve got poetry, movies, humor, money-saving tips and more. They’re all great, and I’ve included a brief comment with each one so that you can decide if you want to click through or not.

The best thing about the submissions is the up attitude of almost all of them. Love it! That’s what starting over is all about.

I’ll leave this page here until I publish the next carnival on April 2, 2010 (to avoid pranks), so be sure to check back!

For more details or to submit a blog post or article, go to the blog carnival website, scroll down and click, “submit an article.” If accepted, a link to your article will be published here in the very next carnival.

Thank you to all participants for helping to inspire.

Madeleine Begun Kane presents What Will I Be When I Grow Up? posted at Mad Kane’s Humor Blog.
While you’re at her site, take a look around–she really puts things into perspective. I have to thank Her Maddness for reminding me that it’s not all about being serious, even when It’s About Starting Over! I particularly like her Lawyer Humor, and her Guide for the Opera Impared. Thanks Madeleine!

I love movies!

In the Online College blog, there is a wonderful list of 50 Inspiring Films You Should Show Your Students. The list is divided into categories that make things easier on the eye–very organized and nice. The chosen films, “offer education, inspiration, entertainment, and sometimes, even a warning.” and are listed as appropriate for high school and college-aged students, with some that might be great for the younger set too.

What is it about the number 50? 50 years old, 50 films, and now, 50 hacks! At the Accredited Online Colleges (dot org) blog, you will find 50 Incredibel Ikea Hacks for College Kids. These are all really cool ways to improve on Ikea products to make better use of space while saving lots of money by doing it yourself. Great for college students of all ages, and fantastic for anyone who needs to pinch pennies and space when starting over. What better way to focus than by using a hammer and nails…on furniture…for, er, constructive purposes…

That’s it for this month! Did I have fun and will I continue doing this? Enshalla, B’lie nedder, G-d willing, you bet!
